Aveiro welcomes a special edition of NOVA Medical School’s Summer Medical School: Lifestyle, in partnership with the Casa Hermes Foundation<\/strong><\/span> 7th and 8th June | Casa Hermes Foundation | Skope – Health & Medicine Museum<\/strong><\/span> On 7 and 8 June, the city of Aveiro will host the Summer Medical School: Lifestyle – Aveiro Short Edition<\/strong>, a special, decentralised edition of NOVA Medical School’s (NMS)<\/strong> educational project, in partnership with the Casa Hermes Foundation.<\/strong><\/span> After the success of the previous editions in Lisbon, this initiative is now travelling to new territories, reinforcing NMS’s commitment to promoting healthy lifestyles<\/strong> among the youngest sections of the population. The Aveiro edition will take place at the premises of the Casa Hermes Foundation | Skope – Health & Medicine Museum.<\/span> The programme is directed to 20 children between the ages of 6 and 12 from the Bom Sucesso Primary School of the Dr. M\u00e1rio Sacramento School Group<\/strong>, referred and invited by the Aradas Local Council<\/strong>, offering them a two-day immersive experience in key areas for their development: nutrition, physical activity, mental health and science.<\/strong><\/span> Through practical activities, interactive workshops, self-care dynamics and science sessions, Summer Medical School: Lifestyle seeks to inspire healthy behaviours from an early age<\/strong>, with a lasting impact on the health and well-being of children and their families.<\/span> This edition is entirely free for all participants, thanks to a scholarship from Itau (Technical Institute of Human Nutrition)<\/strong>, which guarantees the enrolment of referred children. The event is also supported by strategic partners<\/strong>, including: SMEG, SVR, Meli\u00e3 Ria, Aradas Local Council, Aradas Family Health Unit and the Aveiro School for Professional Training in Tourism.<\/strong><\/span> According to Concei\u00e7\u00e3o Calhau<\/strong>, Sub-Director for Community Outreach at NMS,<\/span> \u2018Taking this project to different parts of the country reinforces our commitment to inclusion and promoting health from an early age. This immersion has a real impact on children and their families, as the experience of previous years has shown.
