The T-Plate was presented at NOVA Medical School, a project that the Casa Hermes Foundation is proud to be part of and which arose from a shared desire to bring scientific knowledge closer to everyday life, promoting more conscious and healthy food choices.
The initiative began at NOVA Medical School, whose ambition to transform people’s relationship with food found partners with the same vision and purpose in the Casa Hermes Foundation and Costa Nova. Together, the three institutions created this physical and educational plate, designed to inspire simplicity, balance and autonomy in food choices.
Inspired by the Mediterranean Diet, the T-shaped plate divides the meal into:
🔹 1/2 plate of vegetables
🔹 1/4 plate of cereals, derivatives, tubers and legumes
🔹 1/4 plate of meat, fish or eggs
More than just an object, it is a health literacy tool — practical, accessible and aligned with the principles of the Mediterranean Diet — created to transform eating habits and support families, schools and institutions.
Available in adult and children’s versions, the T-shaped plate can be purchased:
🛒 At the Skope – Museum of Medicine and Health shop in Aveiro
🛒 In Costa Nova’s physical and online stores
🛒 In the NOVA Medical School online store
For the Casa Hermes Foundation, this is a milestone that reinforces its mission to educate for health, valuing knowledge and contributing to transforming behaviours in a simple and consistent way.
