The Casa Hermes Foundation launched the educational programme ‘Protecting Yourself is in Your Hands’ with a session aimed at students from the Aveiro Professional Tourism Training School, held at Skope – Museum of Medicine and Health, in Aveiro.
This programme, aimed at secondary school and professional course students, aims to promote health literacy, reinforcing knowledge about sexually transmitted infections (STIs), how to prevent them and the importance of conscious and responsible choices.
More than just providing information, the initiative invites reflection on attitudes, prejudices and behaviours, encouraging an open, positive and taboo-free approach to sexuality and public health.
The session was supported by a team of doctors from the Esgueira Family Health Unit, whom we thank for their valuable participation, excellent sharing and commitment to the mission of health education.
It was a moment of great participation and dialogue, demonstrating how education and science are essential tools for caring for ourselves and others.
