In 2025-2026, Skope – Museum of Medicine and Health, in Aveiro, is expanding its educational programme for schools with a new activity:
“Protecting Yourself is in Your Hands” — an initiative by the Casa Hermes Foundation, which promotes health education and the prevention of sexually transmitted infections (STIs).
During the sessions, students are invited to:
- Understand what STIs are, how they are transmitted and how they can be prevented;
- Explore myths, taboos and beliefs associated with sexuality;
- Recognise the importance of vaccination, screening and responsible choices;
- Reflect on the role of information and respect in interpersonal relationships.
The activities are carried out in collaboration with medical specialists and health professionals, ensuring a scientific, rigorous and accessible approach.
With the support of private companies committed to the mission of health education, some of these activities may be free of charge for schools.
Aimed at secondary school and vocational course students, the programme contributes to the promotion of health literacy, citizenship and individual and collective responsibility.
Registration is now open — and places are limited.
