Cultura que Cuida session dedicated to fall prevention

The most recent Cultura que Cuida session held at Skope featured a roundtable discussion dedicated to fall prevention, an essential topic for everyday safety and well-being.

The activity was led by a team from Diaverum Aveiro Unit, an international healthcare network specialising in renal therapies and promoting quality of life for its patients, which shared practical information on risk factors, possible complications and fall prevention strategies.

Throughout the session, there was also time for movement, with simple and adapted exercises, reminding us how physical activity can help improve balance and confidence.

In a particularly participatory moment, there was also an opportunity to measure blood pressure, reminding us how regular monitoring is essential to prevent risky situations.

Through conversation, care and sharing, we reinforced the idea that prevention is an essential form of care.

The Casa Hermes Foundation would like to thank Diaverum for its availability and contribution to this session, ITAU – Instituto Técnico de Alimentação Humana (Technical Institute of Human Nutrition), a partner in the project, and Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Aveiro, the beneficiary organisation.

At the end, refreshments were prepared by EFTA – Aveiro Vocational Training School in Tourism. A surprising spinach and sultana cake!
