Reflecting, questioning, and informing were at the heart of the session dedicated to Sexually Transmitted Infections (STIs), held with 10th-grade students from the Industrial Maintenance and Electronics, Automation, and Control courses at the Aveiro Professional School.
In an atmosphere of open, safe, and taboo-free dialogue, topics such as prevention, access to accurate information, and the importance of individual choices in protecting health were discussed. The active participation of the students showed how health education is fundamental to more conscious and responsible decisions.
These sessions, aimed at secondary school and vocational students, are part of the Casa Hermes Foundation’s commitment to promoting health literacy within the school community.
We would like to thank the doctors from the Aradas Family Health Unit for their availability, approachability, and clarity in addressing such important issues—their contribution is essential to the success of this project.
The STI Project is still under development and is open to secondary schools and vocational courses.
